The history of the jewelry

The Celts used braiding and knotwork in the decoration of their crafts between 700 BC and 300 AD. The intricate patterns interwoven into spirals and knots symbolized continuity of life to them and was used on this specific Celtic pendant.

The intertwined knot works were developed from tartan fabrics and basket weaving techniques. The knot was generally considered infinite. This design was widespread in England and Ireland, where its complexity is often found depicted in carvings on stone crosses.
