At MuseumJewellery.com we strive to create jewelry copies and reproductions that are as close to the original as possible, while still maintaining an affordable price range, in order to mediate our cultural history through the jewelry found in our museums around the world. Therefore, we make exceptions for solid gold and precious stones that are too expensive to recreate. This means that precious stones may be replaced with semi-precious stones (such as corneal instead of ruby) and solid gold is made with vermeil (22K gold plating on sterling silver) and 14K gold. However, silver remains silver, so there is something for everyone! We take care to ensure that all earring hangers are made from non-allergenic (hypoallergenic or nickel-free) silver.
