The history of the jewelry

Sterling silver Celtic knot pendant on a belcher chain in sterling silver - (700 BC – 300 AD)

The Celts used braiding and knotwork in the decoration of their crafts. The intricate patterns interwoven into spirals and knots symbolized continuity of life to them. The intertwined knotworks were developed from tartan fabrics and basket weaving techniques. The knot was generally considered infinite. This design was widespread in England and Ireland, where its complexity is often found depicted in carvings on stone crosses.
