The history of jewelry

Egyptian earrings with cat motifs made of lapis, carnelian and other stones and sterling silver with 22 carat gold plating. Suspension: Hooks

In ancient Egypt, cats were considered sacred. They represented Bastet, the cat-headed goddess of Bubastis, a city in the northeastern delta of Lower Egypt. Bastet was originally associated with the sun god Ra and became associated with the sun's life-sustaining power, women's protection and joy. Our cat is a reproduction of a faience amulet from around 940-730 BC. Cat amulets were commonly worn throughout the 22nd and 23rd Dynasties to invoke the blessings of Bastet.

Material: 22 carat gold plating, gold-plated silver hooks, lapis, carnelian, and other stones
