Egyptian Scarab and Lapis Necklace

  • $99.99

History of the jewelry

The ancient Egyptians attached great religious importance to the combination of lapis and gold like this and to the humble scarab beetle, which was a symbol of resurrection and eternal life. Our Egyptian Scarab and Lapis Necklace is a replica of such.

Regalia made of gold and lapis were believed to place the wearer under the protection of the sun and sky. Gold was considered a divine metal associated with the sun god Ra. Lapis was believed to be a sacred stone, with a heavenly meaning represented in its rich blue color.

Materials: lapis, pewter beads with gold finish, lobster claw closure
Length: 18"
